Working with Content
Over twenty years as a professional editor and writer, I've had the opportunity to create content for an array of interesting topics, and I've presented that content using every format under the sun... in MS Office and Docs, in RAW HTML and markup, using experience managers like Adobe AEM, and using management systems like Wordpress CMS and Brightspace LMS.
Online Learning Content

BFA/MFA Class Writer and Editor
If you are looking for an experienced project manager and editor for your online learning project, look no further!
At the Academy of Art University working in the Online Education department, I worked with subject matter experts to create instructional content for the Academy's groundbreaking art and design classes.
Whether the subject was architecture, 3D animation, fashion design, or cinematography — and in accordance with the requirements of the school's accreditors and academic rubrics — I created content for final-year MFA students, entry-level BFA students, and everyone in between.
Accessibility Services

Creating Copy That Includes Every User
For the last eight years at the Academy, I served as the production manager for all accessibility-related content types provided by the Online Education department.
My small team produced open video captions, audio description files, and image description content (tags and descriptions) for the school's expansive curriculum. As team manager, I hired and trained entry-level caption editors for their role in the production pipeline.
Guided by the Chicago Manual of Style as well as the department's own style principles, I wore many hats — content producer, budget manager, scrum master, and accessibility advocate.
Marketing and News Content

Content Designed for Every Audience
One of my most pernicious vices is my love of news content. If they publish it online, I've probably read it. I'd love to help you create buzzy news stories that drive users like me to your site.
In my early career, I served as News Editor for Bio Online. In the late '90s and early '00s, this upstart web portal highlighted the biggest and best developments in the biotech and pharma community. I loved finding ways to communicate complex technical topics to the general audience.
With the Academy of Art, I served for about a year as the content editor of the school's marketing site. I created news articles and conducted interviews with notable students and staff. I collaborated with web producers to reorganize the site's content and improve the performance of SEO tags and descriptions.
Content Built for Responsive Design

Expertise in Front-End Development
In the last two decades, I've seen the web transition from the era of frames and static tables to a new one founded on the principles of responsiveness and interoperability.
I'll help you create content that is designed for every device you support, be it the tiniest flip phone, the gaudiest 4K monitor... even your IoT-powered fridge!
I'm comfortable using integrated development environments like VS Code to create files in many common formats (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON). Allow me to take the next Jira ticket and get to work on your project. Whether you're designing your content system in Figma, assembling created assets for a new site version, or improving an already-existing resource, I'm ready to help.
